Mrs. Durbin is probably one of the best Oral Comm. teachers to have. The first two class periods you pick a partner and then you have to introduce them the next class. When everyone in the class is doing this, it's a little easier to learn about the people you're stuck with for the semester. As a whole, her classes are interesting- and that says a lot for me because I have her at 8am in the morning MWF. Instead of lecturing and lecturing on the awful book topics, she makes up her own fun activities to get her point across like using ink blots and other pictures to teach perceptions and "Guess the English meaning of Australian phrases" to teach more about languages. Yes, a lot of points come from the quizzes, but she'll help you with questions that you need help with and give you every opportunity to succeed. Compared to the horror stories I'm hearing from some of the others, Durbin is probably the lesser of all evils.
