Ubuntu Linux
"Ubuntu" is an ancient African word, meaning "humanity to others". Ubuntu also means "I am what I am because of who we all are". The Ubuntu Linux distribution brings the spirit of Ubuntu to the software world.
Ubuntu is a Linux operating system based off of Debian Linux. It is a quite user friendly Linux with an excellent support staff and a community of users and developers that help each other when problems arise on a forum which Ubuntu has on its website. Ubuntu also comes with over one thousand pieces of software, including open office, Gnome 2.8, the new Linux 2.6 kernel and several mulitmedia programs comparable to the Window's Media Player.
Ubuntu has always, and will always be free. This is a statement that the Ubuntu community has been stating ever since it's creation. This is possible because Canonical Ltd. heavily supports the Ubuntu project.
