"Ubuntu" is an ancient African word, meaning "humanity to others". Ubuntu also means "I am what I am because of who we all are". The Ubuntu Linux distribution brings the spirit of Ubuntu to the software world.
Ubuntu is a Linux operating system based off of Debian GNU/Linux, and is designed to be an extremely user-friendly distribution. Like most distros, Ubuntu has a community of users and developers that share knowledge and experience in a forum, though unlike many distros, Ubuntu sports an excellent support staff.
