The Academy Newspaper

The Academy Newspaper is one and the same with the former Creative Writing Club. Hence, it is a "Creative Writing Newspaper" -- with less news, and more nonsense.

Basics

  • Name: The Proclaimer
  • Size: Currenly 1 sheet of paper, printed on both sides
  • Schedule: Depends on the submissions, supposed to be about every 2 weeks.
  • Sponsored by: Doug_Daubert

Current Staff

Ashley Banaszek: Editor/Writer/Comic/Photographer/Editorialist Obviously, I need some help or the newspaper will be a one-woman show. Staff positions will be opening at the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year. It is open to anybody who wishes to join.

Staff of 2004-2005

  • Ashley Banaszek: Writer
  • Tara Banaszek: Editor/Writer
  • Jessica Platt: Writer
  • Jacqueline Powers: Assistant Editor/Writer
  • Elena Smith-Martinez: Assistant Editor/Comic Artist

Interesting Moments in Newspaper History

  • The Proclaimer was founded at the end of the 2003-2004 year, to be ready for 2004-2005
  • Articles must be approved by Doug Daubert to be printed by him.
  • A comic was edited in April/May 2004 without permission and caused a stir.
  • For most of 2004-2005, The Proclaimer was distributed without the approval of Doug, paid for by the Editor and Assistant Editors.
  • Beginning in March 2005, The Proclaimer will be back in Doug's power. (If he'll ever approve our articles..)
