224 Multiethnic Literature of the United States (3 hours)
Focuses on the literature of African Americans, Native Americans, Chicanos/Chicanas and Asian Americans. Includes close critical reading of a variety of texts as well as attention to the cultural contexts from which the literature derives.

Overview

Multiethnic Lit focuses on the four ethnic groups described above. Read a full novel for each ethnic group, and short stories in between.

What Really Happens

This is considered the easy literature class. While other classes have to read and reflect (pronounced: "read the Sparknotes") on literature picked for its soporific effects, the Multiethnic teachers are apparently pleased that people show up.

Note: Some teachers of the subject are apparently more "difficult" than others. This class as taught by Brenda Ryan seems to be one of the easier versions of the class.
