224 Multiethnic Literature of the United States (3 hours)
Focuses on the literature of African Americans, Native Americans, Chicanos/Chicanas and Asian Americans. Includes close critical reading of a variety of texts as well as attention to the cultural contexts from which the literature derives.

Overview

Considered by many as one of the easier literature electives, Multiethnic Lit focuses on the four ethnic groups described above. Usually, there is a full novel for each of the ethnic groups, and short stories in between.

Stuff to know

Some teachers of the subject are considered more difficult than others. This class as taught by Brenda Ryan seems to be one of the easier versions of the class.
