Jessica Hoffman was a graduate of the class of 2005. She came back to serve as an RC of the spring semester of 2009, and was widely considered to be one of the best RC's the Academy had ever seen: her unique perspective as being a former Academy student allowed her to connect with students in a way other RC's could not (Sean Eddington attended an institution similar to the Academy, and this sentiment is often applied to him, as well).

For reasons that remain a mystery, Dr. Jennings fired Jessica after the spring of 2009. The student response was tremendous, and many efforts were made to convince Dr. Jennings to keep her on staff. There was even a meeting held during May Session for several hours in Meeting Room A of the Union. The room remained packed, with standing room only for the duration of the meeting. Jennings refused to give any indication why Jessica was being dismissed, and the entire student body was left feeling frustrated and powerless, as the best RC known to them was forced to leave.
