iNTRODUCTiON[edit]

I stumbled across this little project of those computer literate nerds (yeah, that's right, nerds. I make fun only because I'm jealous, tis true) and decided that this stub needed some more flava. Not that Blum isn't a really flavaful guy, but I love talking about myself because I'm an egomaniacal twat who just happens to have some free time to ramble. So, I guess the first thing to point out is that I in fact never graduated from the Academy. This excerpt may be useful to one of you would-be slackers out there, so perhaps this is more beneficial than just ego stroking masturbation. I actually have no idea if this section is supposed to be merely user profiles or suggestions for success at the Academy. I kind of combined the two, so enjoy.
Anyways, I'm a self proclaimed genius with, as mentioned, a severe ego disorder which I am well aware of. Contrary to that, I have no self esteem, thus leaving me stranded in a limbo of my own awesome/patheticness. But that's neither here nor there, merely the relevant information about my inner psyche. For some reason this combination of qualities causes me to act out in front of a group of people I am comfortable with. I would often do humiliating/dangerous/stupid/disgusting/<insert adjective here> things just to get some attention, or steal a cheap laugh. This is not an ideal state, and I believe my attention whoring is one of the reasons for my poor performance academically at the Academy. So, suggestion #1: Don't be a jackass 24/7.
The Academy isn't as strict as it pretends to be. I don't remember ever once studying during the required 8-10 p.m. study hours, so if that part of the program bugs you, don't let it. The enforcement is minimal if not nonexistent. Just don't go around yelling at each other or playing in the hallways. Just stay in your room and play some D2 or Counterstrike, and be ready with that alt+tab. Wait a minute...I should provide positive encouragement...err...though you can get away with not studying, you know, maybe you should every once and a while. You honestly don't want to end up like me, getting kicked out after three long, happy semesters and then bumming around for a year, depressed and anti-social, working at a fast food resturaunt wondering what your buddies are doing up in Maryville. Poor, sad, pathetic me. Oh woooooe is me. Heh. Suggestion #2: Keep up with your studies, [sarcastic sarcasm]unless you are a super genius like me who doesn't need no stinkin' studying cause he is too damn smart for that stuff. I blame my expulsion on Toomey.[/sarcastic sarcasm]
You really should go to class. It is soooo easy and tempting to skip. Most of the Profs don't take attendance and could care less if you show up. This isn't the high school I was familiar with, and unfortunately the temptation got to me. I thought to myself, Tony Hawk is a lot funner than Calc. I think I'll play that. So I did. Though I did pretty well in some classes I rarely went to and even more rarely studied for (such as my B in Calc 1, which I'm quite proud of), most of my grades were below par, which eventually lead to my ass getting the boot. I am, as a consequence, very good at Tony Hawk ;). Suggestion #3, for those taking notes: Go to class, ho, or you'll get a cap busted off in yo' ass.
On another note, the Academy was the best three semesters of my life so far. I met dozens of great people, enjoyed a lifetime's share of drama, developed my character as a human being, and improved my way of life. I believe my experience at the Academy was an excellent push in the right direction, though there are a few minor regrets. If you are looking for the easy A's, stay in high school (unless you are even more super genius than I, arrogant bastard). I don't like thinking about hypothetical decisions I could have made in the past, but I often wonder what would have happened if I had stayed in high school. Likely (egoist, remember) I would have graduated in the top of my class, got to be that cool guy who gave a speech at graduation, and got enough scholarships to pay for this bloody MU tuition. Unfortunately for me I ended up getting kicked out of the Acad, dropping out of high school (1.5 credits shy of a diploma...*shrugs*), and getting shafted on scholarships. Suxx0rs hardcore.
Anyway...I'm done rambling. For those couple people who stuck around and read this (prolly just the geeks who run this thing...geeks), I'm glad I could suck all this time from your short, puny, mortal lives. Muhahaha. Live long.

Side note: After a year off from college, I'm going to Mizzou. I'm taking a bunch of gen eds to fill out some requirements because I'm still deciding on a major. Directionless as well, you ask? Of course! But seriously...when you take easy classes like this you really don't have to study. I'm doing awesome in all these classes and I haven't even opened any of the books I paid my soul for. (Notice I say this now, before the semester is over. I said the same thing about my classes at the Academy. Old habits die hard. Just don't start them, or you'll be like me. My greatest ambitions are owning an island and being a street panhandler. Go figure. Oh, and FEAR ME :fire eyes:.)

/me claps excitedly!

davy says: Tad is indeed le awesome. I shall take your advice, even though I'm lying right now. People who actually read this, you should study enough to know what's going on, and maybe a little before tests. Do not let grades consume you, because unfortunately, Studying to much is every bit as bad as not studying enough. This is due to a sad simple fact: either way, you'll miss out on the great fun the Academy is.
