I lived on 2 South with Amea Chandler for my first year and on 2 East with Margaret Sebastian my second year.
During my time at the Academy, I was involved with the Student Government Association and served as the 2S Wing Representative my first year. I was also involved in Student Activities Committee; second year I was SAC Liason for SGA. Because of this, I planned the Mr. Academy talent show in May. I was also on the council to plan the Second Year Appreciation dinner.
My favorite things to do at the Academy are to hang out with my girl friends, listening to music, and studying of course! ;) Also, decorating and making playlists for the dances are something I didn't mind doing, because it's something everyone gets to participate in.
During May Session, I took Calculus II my first year and am planning on taking Literature my second year. I took Oral Communications at Missouri Western in the summer.
One of my favorite memories was when were three snow days in a row my first year! It was so awesome. Those days consisted of staying inside, watching Netflix and DVDs, painting nails, making hot tea in the microwave, and watching the snow fall late into the night hoping for just one more day off. Oh yeah and studying for my Calc test that was scheduled the next school day. . .
Another one of my favorite memories during my time here was the Bridge Program. These two introductory weeks were so nice just to meet everyone and taking Pre Calc and Chemistry helpful classes were alright..but spending time with my new friends are something we looked back on throughout the whole year. It wasn't too difficult, we weren't overwhelmed or busy, the weather was perfect, and everything was so new and exciting...the best feeling :)
As of right now, I'm looking at Mizzou, UMKC, or lastly (but possibly I guess) staying at Northwest. I want to major in Pre-Dental (I think this falls under Biology but I am NOT interested in Plant Biology at all...so I don't wanna take Botany. I guess we'll see what happens) and go to Dental school at UMKC. Then go back and become an orthodontist. Why you ask? $$$ ;) and I love the impact having a beautiful smile makes on people. Thats the real reason :)
