Attractions[edit]

The University of Tulsa has several draws for Academy graduates.

  • All National Merit Finalists qualify for a full Presidential Scholarship, which means that you only pay for books. If you use Amazon Marketplace, you can usually get by on under $300/semester.
  • TU has been known to accept over 70 credit hours from Northwest for incoming Academy students, without affecting your eligibility for scholarships.
  • The science and engineering programs are considered among the best in the nation, particularly Computer Science and Petroleum Engineering.
  • Undergraduate research is actively promoted, and it is rather common to hear of freshmen attending conferences and being listed as authors on papers.
  • TU is one of around five schools to host the Cyber Corps program, two years of intensive training in computer security (and consequent alcohol consumption), to be followed by two years of working for the US government.
  • Study abroad is highly encouraged, and largely funded by TU.
