Talk:LAN Party

I don't think it's a good idea to be writing pages on the Academy wiki that do not relate to the Academy. It would be better just to link to the Wikipedia article. However, if we're going to be doing it often, it would be nice to have special syntax for doing so so that the full URL needn't be typed every time. Let's look into the possibility of modifying Mediawiki's source for this. - Mpnolan 16:14, 24 Dec 2004 (EST)

Oh, and I do support *this* article because it relates to LAN parties specifically held at the Academy. I don't, however, think pages for every game played is necessary. - Mpnolan 16:15, 24 Dec 2004 (EST)
Yes...but I think anything that would interest academy people should be here. If someone wanted to create a "Learning Piano" article with links to resources, that wouldnt bother me at all. Maybe a little like Everything, but a little more moderated.--Squishypickle 16:43, 24 Dec 2004 (EST)
I think Mike's point was stuff like links to counter-strike or lan cable. I don't think those needed much explaining, beyond perhaps a redirect to the wikipedia article. You have to draw the line somewhere about what's just too much, and short articles about trivial stuff I think count. Unless they're funny.--Chrax 16:47, 24 Dec 2004 (EST)
