Robyn I liked Dr. Mayer, but all the pilgrim stuff was a bit hard to get through. when it comes to writing your final paper, go for the pieces that are challenging, she'll reward you for it.

Few people like Dr. Mayer. I can understand why. She's very much about her opinion. It's very difficult to write a paper she doesn't agree with and get an A. Usually, you'll end up with a B. Make no mistake, there have been A papers that she didn't agree with. Best advice, go to her meeting sessions and take ALL her advice. And don't just go to the one schedule meeting. Go before or after that. Schedule two appointments with her. Take all her advice unless it's something you really want in there. You'll do fine. You just really have to work hard on those papers. Use the thesaurus... a lot...

William Dotson: I liked Dr. Mayer, but I'm a bit of a humanities person. If you don't like english and writing, don't take Dr. Mayer. She expects the papers to be well reasoned, whether they agree with her or not. Oh, and it is possible to get an A on a paper she disagrees with; I got a 98.
